Monolingual editing focuses on refining a document in a single language, without comparison to a source text.

Proofreading of translated documents (also referred to as bilingual revision) involves checking the translated text against the original document to ensure complete accuracy.
This includes:

- Ensuring consistency in terminology and appropriate abbreviations
- Identifying missing translations and translation errors
- Ensuring fidelity to the original document
- Ensuring compliance with interinstitutional style guides, official terminologies and any background documents provided
- Checking formatting, layout, table of contents and page numbering
Clients often request this service for translations produced by another provider or by their own in-house team, to ensure that the final version is accurate, polished and consistent.
Professional proofreading is carried out by experienced translators who are native speakers of the target languages and have subject-matter expertise. We work with MS Word or PDF formats and return the proofread file with corrections, comments and suggestions inserted.
Pricing is based on the word count of the original document or, in some cases, an hourly rate – depending on the complexity.
